Back in 2005 Cluster Bomb Unit did a tour of Asia. donotconsume Records of Malaysia put out this partial discography CD for them to sell on the tour. Life on the Edge Records repressed 150 copies it at some point. I've seen this floating around elsewhere, but the rips were of dubious quality. I found a copy on Velted Regnub Distribution for a very reasonable price so I figured I'd rip it and throw it up here.

Profound - Integrity

Profound is a decent enough West German ripoff of Judge and Slapshot. The D.Y.S. cover is actually pretty cool. Anti-Schelski records latter became known as Crucial Response records so all subsequent represses were on that label.

Here's some more screamo from my collection. If you've read this blog before you probably already know I'm a huge fan. This split was actually one of the earlier records I ever bought. I got it from Init Records when they still had copies.

Calling Gina Clark was from Germany. They changed their name A Fine Boat, That Coffin sometime around 2005. Dispensing of False Halos was from Des Moines, Iowa and was part of that wave of late 90's early 00's American screamo bands that were all the rage for a short period of time. They just don't make it like they used to.

A quick note about the track order. The track listing on the record itself and elsewhere on the internet is incorrect. The Dispensing of False Halos side is out of order. "It Does Not Not Hurt" is the first track on the record even though it is listed as the second.

This was one of the first records I ever bought. Probably not long after it came out. I dunno how I found Crimes Against Humanity Records, but I remember the first time I went to their website I was floored by how cheap everything was. Seriously, if you like hardcore, grindcore, or metal take a look at their selection. Odds are you'll find at least a few things you want, and for prices that are still so low I can't help but wonder if they actually make a profit on what they sell.

Anyways, enough plugging someone else's business. Cluster Bomb Unit is rad crusty hardcore from Germany. They've put out a number of records over the years, some of which have been collected into partial discography CDs. I think this 7" isn't on any of them. I will likely post those discography CDs in the near future. The artwork for their side of the split is punk as fuck. I'll admit it's the reason I ordered it in the first place. I figured it had to be good. I was right.

Raagg is noisy hardcore from Japan. I know absolutely nothing about them. As far as I (read "Google") can tell this split is their only recorded output. Their side has some minor static noise in it that I wasn't able to remove. I think it might actually just be the original recording was done on shitty equipment and not due to the vinyl playback. Given the kind of bands we're dealing with here that's extremely likely.

At least Cluster Bomb Unit has a website.

Affront/District - split

Yet another bargain bin gem (I'm gonna be posting a lot of these). This split features two bands from Germany. It was recorded in 1997. That's about all the background information I know. Both bands are fast, energetic, and angry hardcore punk. Nothing you haven't heard before, but if that's a problem for you then you probably don't like punk anyways.
